Storyboard

After planning the concept of my music video, the next step was to create a storyboard and shooting script. A storyboard is a visual planning tool that shows how the scenes of a video will look before filming. It usually contains small sketches of each shot together with notes explaining the camera angle, movement and action.



Storyboard Script Plan



Scene 1 – Intro (0:00–0:12)


Shot 1

  • Visual: Establishing wide shot of the beach and ocean.

  • Camera: Static wide shot.


Shot 2

  • Visual: Slow pan across the ocean horizon.

  • Camera: Slow left-to-right pan.



Scene 2 – Verse 1 (0:13–0:35)


Shot 3

  • Visual: Long shot of the main character walking along the beach.

  • Camera: Tracking shot from behind.


Shot 4

  • Visual: Close-up of feet walking in the sand.

  • Camera: Low angle close-up.


Shot 5

  • Visual: Over-the-shoulder shot of the character looking at the ocean.

  • Camera: Static medium shot.



Scene 3 – Pre-Chorus (0:36–0:48)


Shot 6

  • Visual: Wide shot of waves moving strongly toward the shore.

  • Camera: Slow motion shot.


Shot 7

  • Visual: Character standing close to the water.

  • Camera: Side profile medium shot.


Shot 8

  • Visual: Over-the-shoulder shot, the character taking a photo with digital camera.

  • Camera: Over-the-shoulder shot.



Scene 4 – Chorus (0:49–1:10)


Shot 9

  • Visual: Character walking along the beach with the ocean behind them.

  • Camera: Tracking side shot.


Shot 10

  • Visual: Close-up of the character’s face.

  • Camera: Slow push-in shot.


Shot 11

  • Visual: Cutaway shot of waves crashing.

  • Editing: Match cut with the rhythm of the music.



Scene 5 – Verse 2 (1:11–1:35)


Shot 12

  • Visual: Character playing with her hair.

  • Camera: Close-up.


Shot 13

  • Visual: Silhouette of the character walking along the shoreline.

  • Camera: Long shot against sunset lighting.



Scene 6 – Bridge (2:11–2:30)


Shot 14

  • Visual: Close-up of hands touching the water.

  • Camera: Extreme close-up.


Shot 15

  • Visual: Character walking from the water.

  • Camera: Tracking shot.


Scene 7 – Final Chorus & Outro (2:31–End)


Shot 16

  • Visual: Character sitting on the towel.

  • Camera: Filming from above.


Shot 17

  • Visual: Packing her things.

  • Camera: Still camera, filming from side.


Shot 18

  • Visual: Character walking further away along the shoreline.
