Location recce

For my music video, I have chosen Playa del Arenal de Burriana as the main filming location. I believe this beach perfectly captures the relaxed and slightly nostalgic vibe of the song by Vance Joy. The wide spaces and natural lighting, especially during sunset, create an ideal setting for the indie, summery aesthetic I want to achieve. It also feels authentic and not overly commercial, which helps the video connect better with a young audience looking for something natural and relatable.

I also considered filming at Playa de Benicàssim, as it is another beautiful beach. While Benicàssim offers visually appealing scenery, it is often busier and more tourist-heavy, which could make filming more difficult and distracting. This would affect the overall mood I am trying to create, as Riptide suits a more personal environment rather than a crowded one.

Another important factor in my decision was practicality. Playa del Arenal de Burriana is only about 30 minutes away, making the transportation easier and the organization more effective. This makes it a safer and more manageable option for filming.

Overall, although Benicàssim was a strong alternative, I chose the beach of Burriana because it offers the best balance between visual style, accessibility and suitability for the genre and audience.
