For my preliminary project I am planning to create a poster, in order to be more related to the final project, the magazine. I've always liked planning everything ahead and not leave organizational aspects till the last minute, because in that way I can have a clear idea of what I want to do, how I want to do it and when I want to do it. Also this has always given me time to add more elements and ideas to my projects but also plenty of time to change my decisions and embrace a whole different perspective. As a concrete example, I will start explaining my process of research and planning for my preliminary project.

As I decided that I wanted to make a poster, I started looking up some inspiration for my work. First I wanted the background picture to have a lot of highlights, focusing on increasing shadows in order to create a higher contrast, basically aiming for a more 'glowy look'; from makeup till clothing and sunlight. Even though I was pretty convinced that this is the way I want my project to look, I let myself look for other inspirations as well, until I found the following ones in black and white.

Even though I don't like any of the texts, I really like the style of the pictures and the scent of mystery and confidence which they give off.

My next step will be taking the pictures. I already decided that I want my sister to be the model, but unlike the previous pictures, I want my photoshoot to take place outside in order to still keep a fragment from my initial idea; the one of being so called sun-kissed. This also includes a more glowy make-up which I will try to recreate with more highlighter and a deeper contour on the cheekbones. My sister's long blond hair also helps for the idea to come to life, but I still want to add an extra element to create a more pronounced look.

Text wise, I feel that the black text on an already dark image is a bit to gloomy and it lacks the attention-grabbing element, but still not sure how I will fix it to reach my expectations.

In conclusion, I hope that the project will get together as I am imaging and will end up to be a great product, but I am excited to see how my first assignment goes!
