- Sharing My Magazine for the First Time

After finishing my magazine, I finally decided to share it with others to see what they honestly thought about it. I asked a few friends and family members for feedback; but this time, I really wanted them to be objective, not just say “it looks great.” I needed proper opinions that could help me see how my magazine would stand next to a real one.

- What People Thought

  • The Cover: Everyone seemed to really like the cover. They said it looked clean, elegant and “serious,” which is exactly what I wanted for a magazine based on politics and media. The simple black outfit and minimalist design made it feel professional and not overly styled. A few people did mention that it could use a small pop of colour to make it stand out more on a magazine shelf and honestly, I agree. Also the first time I showed the picture to my teacher, she was the one to inspire me to use the Object Remover app to make the photo look more professional and it was an amazing thought.

  • Table of Contents: The table of contents was described as realistic and well-structured. They liked how it looked organized and easy to read. Someone suggested that I could make the title of each article stand out a bit more from the rest by going for a Bold style and I really like this idea and probably change this at the end.

  • The Genre & Style: Everyone instantly recognized the genre — political/media journalism — which made me happy because that means my message was clear. They also pointed out that the choice of a woman as the main subject made the magazine feel more modern and relatable, adding a subtle feminine touch to a typically formal theme.

  • The Feature Article: The feedback for the article was very positive. People said it was interesting, informative, and easy to follow. Some said it felt realistic and professional, while one person mentioned it could use a slightly more personal tone in a few places, to make the message even stronger.

  • Overall Look & Feel: Overall, everyone agreed that it really does look like a magazine — something that could be sold as a real publication. The tone, colours, and layout all worked together. Some said it felt like a stylish independent magazine rather than a big commercial one, which I actually take as a compliment.

- What I Will Change After Feedback

After hearing all this, I want to make a few small improvements:

  • Edit the titles on the Cover Page to make them stand out even more.

  • Play a bit more with the Supporting Cover Lines in order to look more organized and realistic.

  • Add some colour to the Cover to make it "pop-out".

- Final Thoughts

Getting honest feedback was so helpful. It made me look at my work from a different perspective and notice details I hadn’t paid attention to before. I also realised how important it is to balance your own vision with what your audience sees.

Overall, I’m really proud of the final result. The magazine turned out to be exactly what I had imagined — something that connects politics, media, and modern communication, while still keeping a bit of elegance and personality.
